We love Mexican food. It’s full of fresh flavours and surprising combinations. Earlier this year we headed to Mexico for a three-week food focused trip. We took cooking classes, street food tours, explored some amazing markets and generally ate our way around the country. It’s a hard life! We’ll be bringing a slice of Mexican sunshine (with a generous side helping of guacamole) to Portaferry.
The menu will be inspired by the vibrant, fresh and spicy flavours of Mexico. We’ll be matching a few of the courses with a taste of craft beers and chatting about Mexican food, beer and brewing.
It’s hard to believe it will be almost a year since our previous event at The Narrows, one of the first events The Edible Flower did in Northern Ireland! The Narrows Social, formerly a restaurant and hotel and now a vibrant community space and B&B, is based in a gorgeous historic building overlooking the channel (The Narrows) that connects Strangford Lough with the Irish Sea. If you fancy staying down in Portaferry (no worries about driving home) then Celia offers B&B with beautiful views plus The Narrows Social Refugio, a very cute self contained apartment in the courtyard and available to book on Airbnb.

The drinks: This event is BYO. Please bring a bottle (or more) of your favourite tipple. A welcome cocktail will be provided plus a small taste of craft beer matched with a few of the courses.

The cost: £35 per person for a five course tasting menu.
