In April we’ll be transporting our diners to sunny Saigon when we pop up at Boden Park Coffee Company on the Ormeau Road, offering a five-course Vietnamese Feast.
Vietnam is one of our favourite places in the whole world to eat! When we were travelling there a few years ago we spent a magical and eye-opening five days motorbiking along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. With our guides, we stopped off at tiny artisan food businesses to see noodles and rice paper wrappers being made from scratch, cashew nuts, pineapples and coffee beans growing and being harvested, drinking freshly squeezed sugar cane juice (which makes a mean mojito) and eating a delectable array of snacks and meals from street food stalls and side-of-the-road eateries. You definitely don’t need to go upmarket to eat well in Vietnam.
If you haven’t tried Vietnamese food before you are in for a real treat, it’s fresh and punchy, aromatic and light, filled with crunchy veg, sharp, spicy sauces and a kick of chilli. Expect chilli, lemongrass, smoked duck, zingy grapefruit, fresh herbs crunchy pickles, coconut and caramelised banana, plus a dash of Boden Park’s gorgeous house-roasted coffee.
