After the joy of hosting our Midsummer Feast last month we’re back for more summer celebrations at The Edible Flower farmhouse.

We’re absolutely delighted to be teaming up for this event with curious cook and finder of weird and wonderful wild things to eat, Clare McQuillan. A lifelong food obsessive, Clare has just recently jumped from a desk job into pursuing her interest full time catering for events, leading foraging walks and helping out at outstanding Comber Deli Indie Fude.

For this menu, we’ll be celebrating all of summer’s wild bounty with ingredients collected from for the hedgerows, seashores and woodlands of Belfast and County Down.

Expect some delicious new and exciting wild ingredients, alongside some of our freshly grown veg and salad and favourite Northern Irish produce.

Friday 27 July or Saturday 28 July, 7pm

Elderberry Gin & Tonic
Flatbreads from our Wood-fired Pizza Oven topped with Seasonal Vegetables
from the Garden & Hedgerows

Garden Radishes with Butter & Homemade Irish Sea Salt

Grilled Mackerel Bao or Grilled Courgette Bao
with Dandelion Kimchi, Sea Aster, Radish & Wild Garlic Mayo

Pheasant Hill Farm Scotch Eggs with Salsa Verde
Nettle Spanakopita
Baked New Potatoes with Wild Garlic, Elderberry Capers & Crispy Dulse
Tomato & Wildflower Salad
Salad with Wild Herbs & Sorrel Curd
Charred Courgettes, Coriander Seed & Lemon Vinaigrette

Meadowsweet & Gooseberry Sorbet

Porter Brownies with Honeysuckle & Cherry Ice Cream & Pistachio Brittle

Cheese & Medlar Jelly on Homemade Crackers

The drinks: This event is BYO. Please bring a bottle (or more) of your favourite tipple. A welcome drink will be provided plus a small taste of craft beer matched with a few of the courses.
The time: 7pm, Friday 27 July or Saturday 28 July 2018
The place: The Edible Flower, Middle Road, Saintfield, Co. Down, BT24 7LS
The cost: £40 per person (plus £1 booking fee), for a five-course menu plus a few extras.
Dietary Requirements: Veggie options are available for all courses (see menu above) but please let us know in advance if you require the veggie option. For all other dietary requirements just let us know when you book and we’ll try our absolute best to accommodate you.
