We are hosting a special one-off supper club to raise funds for Ukraine on Saturday 19th March 2022. One hundred percent of the ticket price for the supper club (£100 per ticket) will be donated to the #CookForUkraine fundraising campaign.
*** This event is now SOLD OUT but click here to be added to the waiting list ***
Ukraine is a beautiful, hospitable and culturally rich country, not to mention fiercely independent – evidenced now by the brave people resisting this totally unprovoked invasion. We had the absolute joy of travelling there in 2018 on a food tour with Nataliya Cummings of Experience Ukraine and the cook and writer Olia Hercules. I feel such an affinity with Ukrainian food – many of the ingredients and flavours are not so different from our traditional Irish dishes – potatoes, onions, cabbage, brown bread, vegetable broths and cured pork. It reminds me of how we are all connected and how we can find commonality through eating and cooking together. For this special charity event we will share some of the amazing recipes, flavours and food stories we learnt about in Ukraine and from reading and cooking from Olia’s gorgeous cookbooks.
If, instead of attending the supper club, you would like lend your labour to help, we have a few volunteer slots in the kitchen on the day of the event and the Thursday before. These are free (of course) but booking for these will also open at the same time as supper club tickets are released. If you would like to help all day on Saturday then book both a daytime and evening slot – you will be well fed and there will be plenty of breaks!
