Summer Solstice Supper Club @ The Edible Flower

The Summer Solstice supper clubs are always a highlight of our year, a moment to mark and celebrate those endless early summer evenings and to welcome the bounty of the later summer months. This year we’ve curated a menu based on some of our favourite supper club dishes and the best of what is in the garden and hedgerows in June. Think elderflower and sweet geranium, peas and cucumber, mint and coriander, smoky barbecued chicken and spicy yellow curry, apricots, strawberries, lavender and basil.

We’ll be kicking off the evening with seasonal flatbreads from our wood-fired pizza oven and a punchy rhubarb and sweet geranium gin fizz and finishing up round the fire pit to toast the longest days of the year.

And most excitingly - this will be our first supper club in our new event space! If you have been following us for a while you will know we have been working hard to convert one of our existing outbuildings into a new kitchen and event space and it is almost ready. Join us for delicious food, seasonal chat and to toast a new chapter for The Edible Flower.

Summer Solstice Supper Club, June 2022

On arrival:
Rhubarb & sweet geranium gin fizz
Seasonal flatbreads from our wood-fired pizza oven
 

To start:
Elderflower fritter salad with young buck blue cheese & dandelion honey

To continue:
Banh mi – Vietnamese street food sandwiches with spicy fishcakes or lentil fritters, pickled carrot & daikon, homemade mayo & chilli sauce  

The main event:
Festival barbecued chicken
Thai yellow curry with new potatoes, tomatoes, peas & garden greens
Som tam - Thai salad with shredded carrots, peanuts & spicy dressing
Mushroom larb-style salad with toasted rice, lime & chilli
Sticky rice

To refresh:
Apricot & lavender ice

To finish:
Elderflower pannacotta with strawberries & basil seed shortbread

Round the fire pit:
Chocolate mint tea with chocolate & rose amaretti



The drinks: This event is BYO. Please bring a bottle (or more) of your favourite tipple. A welcome drink and a taste of our homebrewed beer will be provided.
The time: 7pm, Thursday 16th, Friday 17th, Saturday 18th, Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th or Saturday 25th June 2022
The place: The Edible Flower, Middle Road, Saintfield, Co. Down, BT24 7LS
The cost: £66 per person (includes VAT & booking fees), for a five-course menu plus a few extras.
Keeping warm: This event will be held in our new dining space - the hub. Nevertheless, it can get chilly in the evenings so please do wrap up warm and bring an extra layer or two to keep you cosy.
Keeping safe:  You may be seated with other guests. If you are not comfortable sitting with other people then please do not book tickets as unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to seat groups separately. We’d also please ask guests to take all reasonable precautions to stay safe and keep others safe too.
Dietary Requirements: Veggie options are available for all courses (see menu above) but please let us know in advance if you require the veggie option. Unfortunately this menu is not suitable for gluten-free guests and we cannot cater for gluten free requirements on this occasion. For all other dietary requirements just let us know when you book and we’ll try our absolute best to accommodate you.
