Join us for an evening of dumpling eating, dumpling making & then more dumpling eating.

Learn how to make your very own potstickers and gyoza dumplings.

Learn lots of fab folding techniques and try some delicious seasonal dumpling fillings.

Come and help us spread the dumpling love!

Dumplings are one of our absolute favourite comfort foods, a perfect little parcel of deliciousness ideal for dark and chilly Winter evenings.

We’ve been lucky enough to eat dumplings, steamed, boiled and fried in all sorts of lovely places – from Lijiang, Yunnan in South West China, to the streets of George Town, Penang and delicious varenyky with Olia Hercules in the Ukraine. During this class we’re going to focus on making steamed gyoza and crispy-bottomed potstickers.

We’ll start the evening with a small bowl of welcome dumplings and a tea. We’ll then learn how to make dumplings with three different seasonal fillings. We’ll make a super simple wheat dough from scratch and then use it to practice all sort of different folding techniques from pleated crescents to moneybags and rope edges. Everyone will make and fill their own dumplings. We’ll steam some of them and I’ll show you how to ‘potsticker’ some too. We’ll then sit down at the end of the evening to eat them all with a couple of delicious vegetable sides.

We’ll send you recipes for all the dumplings we cover so you can recreate your dumplings in the comfort of your own house!

Here are the details:
The dumplings: We’ll start with some welcome dumplings (made by us, eaten by you). We’ll then all make gyoza and potstickers with three different fillings (squash & sesame, pork & scallion and classic vegetable). Vegetarian fillings will be available for all the dumplings.
The drinks: There will plentiful green tea & water all evening. If you would like anything else to drink please feel free to bring your own; wine, beer, soft drinks or whatever you fancy.
The time: 6.30pm to approximately 9:30pm, Thursday 23rd or Friday 24th February 2023.
The place: The Edible Flower, 121 Middle Road, Saintfield, Co. Down, BT24 7LS
The cost: £54 per person (inc VAT and booking fees).
Dietary requirements: Unfortunately this event isn’t suitable for people who can’t eat gluten. It’s suitable for vegetarians and vegans. For all other dietary requirements just let us know when you book and we’ll try our absolute best to accommodate you.
