We’re back at the lovely Indie Fude for a Spring Equinox Supper Club to celebrate longer days and the emergence of all the new leaves and shoots.
Although Springtime feels like a time of renewal and fresh foods, in these Northern climes much of the new summer produce is still several months away. Late Spring is often called the ‘Hungry Gap’; the time when over-wintering produce has finished and autumn stores are running low. It’s the perfect time to eat cheese, pulses, pickles, chutneys, dried fruit, preserves and use plenty of spices to enliven everything.
We’ve put together a menu that celebrates the beginning of new growth with punchy wild garlic, peppery radishes and clean-tasting spring greens alongside the comfort of soft, milky curd cheese, slow-roasted buttery root vegetables, warming spices and unctuous fruit preserves.
